Why Comedians with ADHD are Funnier with Galina Rivina
In today's episode I had the great opportunity to speak with comedian Galina Rivina (www.galinarivina.com) about her ADHD diagnosis and how ADHD has helped her be a better comedian.
Galina Rivina is a comedian and writer based in Los Angeles. Originally born and raised in Ukraine, she made it to the U.S. just in time to not have an irksome soviet accent. However, childhood as an immigrant has an undeniable influence on her writing - as does being a woman, navigating life as a millennial, and the day-to-day havoc of human existence. It’s suspected that the lingering Chernobyl exposure gave her one-liners and short form storytelling that bit of the razzle dazzle.
She has been performing stand-up all over the country for nearly a decade. Headlining in comedy clubs across the US and abroad, including the 2022 Cleveland Comedy Festival, the 2024 Netflix is a Joke Fest, and most recently opening on the road for Preacher Lawson. She has written for renowned standups, including Nikki Glaser and wrote for the 2019 Comedy Central Roast of Alec Baldwin. She also hosts a weekly podcast; Galina Rivina Podcastina.
