ADHD Moods
In today's episode the emotional swings often seen in ADHD ("ADHD mood") can be better understood not as fixed traits or flaws, but as moment-to-moment experiences created through thought.
Thought: Individuals with ADHD often experience fast-moving, intense thoughts, which can lead to rapid mood shifts. According to Banks, moods are not caused by external situations or diagnoses, but by our own thinking in the moment.
Consciousness: This principle explains how we become aware of our moods. For someone with ADHD, increased awareness can create space between stimulus and reaction, allowing for more perspective and less identification with fleeting emotional states.
Mind: This represents the deeper intelligence behind life. Regardless of how chaotic moods may feel, the Principle of Mind suggests that there is an innate well-being underneath — untouched by the storm of thought.
